NOVEMBER 2011 WELFARE REPORT |
|||||
There
have been no new requests for assistance since the October Report.
David
Boldy has returned from his UK leave and is available to take calls from the
Limassol area.
I
made two Limassol visits in his absence, one to the late vice-president’s
widow whose application for a place on the RAFA sheltered accommodation waiting
list has been forwarded by David to the office of the Area Welfare Officer.
He is awaiting a reply from Mr McCourt.
The
Limassol member who had undergone serious radical surgery and is having routine
check ups at the General Hospital informed me when I called in that he is
feeling much better having gained weight and is hopeful of making further
progress. David will continue to
monitor his situation and review requirements.
Our
two members in Paphos are being monitored by the Apollo Branch HWO as they are
still unwell and undergoing treatment and tests in Paphos and Nicosia. Paul
Tarrant has helped out by taking one to hospital in Nicosia.
Mike Baillie’s case of the ex-airman waiting to be admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital for Traumatic Stress assessment and if necessary treatment is still in process – his application has been acknowledged by St Thomas’ and he is waiting an appointment which, when it is received he will apply to Mike for the necessary air ticket who ill then apply to the RAF Ben fund as arranged for the travel costs.
